Dr. Robert Griego

An Arizona native, Dr. Griego was born in Prescott, the youngest of five children. As a child, Dr. Griego would get to the basketball court, tennis court, or softball field whenever possible. (A commitment to and love of sports would eventually gain Dr. Griego entrance into the Prescott High School Athletic Hall of Fame, an honor of which he is very proud.) When Dr. Griego was in junior high school, his eldest brother suggested that he become a dentist. Prophetic or not, something struck a chord with Dr. Griego. From that moment, the pursuit of dentistry became a passion for Dr. Griego. With great determination, he attended Arizona State University, focused on completing pre-dental requirements and playing basketball with the ASU Sun Devils. Dr. Griego, then known as Bobby, would later attend the Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska.

Creighton proved to be a perfect fit for Dr. Griego, and his time there was doubly productive: Four years later, he graduated with a D.D.S. and a fiancé, who had graduated the same year from Creighton University. The couple soon married and returned to Dr. Griego's home state of Arizona, where he began practicing dentistry in Phoenix. Dr. Griego and his wife, Lenni, have two daughters, a granddaughter and grandson, and son-in-law.  They are all tremendous sources of pride and happiness.

Dr. Griego’s dental legacy is vast and almost unparalleled in Arizona . He is a lifetime member of both the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA). He has served as President of the AzDA, Speaker of the AzDA House of Delegates, and Delegate to the ADA House of Delegates. He served on and chaired numerous Dental Association committees, both on the national and state levels. He has also served on the Creighton University School of Dentistry Alumni Advisory Board and chaired the Arizona chapter of the Creighton Alumni Association.

Dr. Griego has twice been named the Arizona Dental Association’s “Dentist of the Year.” He was inducted into the AzDA’s Hall of Fame and has earned fellowship honors in the four most prestigious dental fellowship academies. He has been honored as a top dentist in Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Dentist Award” issue. However, Dr. Griego’s two most cherished accolades were being named recipient of  the Creighton University School of Dentistry’s National Alumni Merit Award, for which he was honored in 2006, and the naming of the “Lenni and Bob Griego High Tech Dental Simulation Center.”  This honor was bestowed in April, 2012. Click here to read more about Dr. Griego's honors and community service.
